Overview of Chemistries
Future Environmental Solutions & Associates have developed an arsenal of chemical and biochemical agents designed to address a variety of specific airborne pollutants. Our treatment strategy is based on the vulnerability of pollutants to chemical attack. Our agents may be characterized as treating pollutants generally in three ways:
Biocatalytic - Biocatalytic enzymes interact by temporarily binding with pollutants altering their structure and rendering them harmless. Once the chemical reaction occurs the biocatalytic agents are freed to continue interaction with more of the pollutant.
Destructive Adsorption - In this method, our agents alter the structure of the pollutant by adhering to an open binding site. This destroys the noxious, vaporous properties of the parent compound.
Encapsulation - This method is applied when a rapid lowering of the vapor pressure or Lower Explosive Level (LEL) of Volatile Organic Compounds is required. In this process, our agents encase the pollutant in an ultra-fine film. Once micro-encapsulation occurs the process is permanent and the hydrocarbon molecule can no longer emit (impose) a vapor pressure.
